How do injectable wrinkle reducers work?

Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport are injectable medications that contain purified botulinum toxin, and they all work similarly. These injectables block the nerve signals from reaching underlying facial muscles that contract when you make expressions, such as a smile or frown.

As a result, the muscles relax, which softens wrinkles and lines to smooth out your skin and help you achieve a more youthful look. You’ll still be able to make natural-looking facial expressions, but your look softens with the expert application by Dr. Heron.

Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport are all manufactured slightly differently. Dysport results, for example, may last a little longer than Botox. Xeomin is a slightly purer formulation. All of these wrinkle reducers are best used for forehead lines, lines between the eyebrows, and crow’s feet around the eyes.

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers plump up your skin and add structure to areas that are wrinkled or sunken due to aging. Dermal fillers contain ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid, to increase your skin’s hydration and lift.

Dermal fillers can also help restore the effect that subcutaneous fat, which sits just under the skin, has on your appearance. As you get older, this fat recedes, leaving muscles closer to the surface of the skin, so wrinkles appear more distinct.

What are buttocks injections?
